Jamie was especially helpful for us with her knowledge of the small details and of color schemes. She helped us when we did our bathroom remodels. She also helped remind us of the soap dish holder and a corner shelf for the shampoos in the shower. She helped us choose grout colors that accented the floor tiles in several baths. In one bathroom, Jamie helped us decide on the layout of the floor tiles with a white accent to bring in the white of the tub and vanity. In our master bath, she came up with the thought of a half-wall that would add privacy to the toilet area, allowing the bath to be enlarged while maintaining privacy.

Jamie Gongwer got her start with an extensive remodeling of her own home. During that project she did much of the design work herself, selecting materials and finishes. After seeing the results, her friends quickly lined her up to assist with their own home remodeling projects.  Soon after, she met a contractor at one of those friends' remodeling sites, and he confirmed her natural eye and talent for the job. While continuing to get work through word-of-mouth referrals, Jamie pursued formal certification and education in the Interior Design field. Today she is an Allied ASID member, which requires 40 class units, as well as an IRIS Certified Redesigner. Her training is somewhat unique, in that she was able to select classes to meet needs of her current clients, while she was working. In a way, they helped guide her training!

In addition, Jamie brings a lifetime of art experience to her interior design work. Training as both a watercolor and pastel artist gives her great natural vision when it comes to color, composition, balance and scale.
